Day 3

Half the fun of fall is remixing your summer pieces into cold weather pieces!
Even though I don't tend to buy a lot of items there, I bought this tank at the buckle this summer because I couldn't put it down. I've decided it's plenty ok to spend a little extra money on something as long as you will wear it enough to make it worth it.
Black Jeggings - Maurices $32 (Crazy cute pockets too!)
Brown Boots - Maurices  $42
(You'll see a lot repeats when it comes to boots, this girl don't have that kind of cash!)
Green tank - Maurices $14
Black long sleeve - Maurices $18
Shark bite tank - The Buckle $29
Bangles - A mixture of Maurices and the Buckle (about $12 a set)

Soo like every other trend out there, I was super hesitant about brown and black together. Actually, I was down right against it. As you can see now, I can't get enough of it! I think it is all about keeping a good balance between the two!
Shark bite = A hem that is uneven with its lowest points being at the side seam (upside down U shape). It resembles a shark bite because of it's jagged look.

Day 2!

I am crazy about tribal prints right now! I had to do a close up on the skirt pattern because it's one of my favorite items in my closet right now.
Model Tank - Maurices $12
Black off the shoulder top - Alloy $12.99
Tribal skirt - Maurices $29 (totally worth it!)
Leggings - Maurices $12
Boots - Maurices $42 (These are from last year, but I love them to much to retire them)
Feather necklace - Outlet mall American Eagle $2.99
Bangles - Maurices $14

Bangles = Groups of bracelets you can mix and match with other sets.

Happy Wednesday!

Day 1 - Snow day!

As I mentioned in my previous post I live in Idaho. Today was the first snow day of the year, and I am definitely not ready for it. I guess it's time to pack up the tanks and skirts, or at least modify them! Day 1 was definitely a comfy day.
White tank - H&M $5.95 (all their basics are a steal!)
Black tank with crochet back - $9.99 at ross
Flannel (With just the perfect mix of redneck and girly!) - Maurices $29
Green Jeggings (It's hard to tell in the picture, but these are THE perfect kelly green!)  $29!!!
Sweater boots - Bearpaw $29.99 I waited until the off season and scored this for 1/2 price at Famous Footwear

I know this is shameless advertising, but Maurices is totally great for the basic jeans this year. I scored multiple pairs of colored skinnies for around $29. It's important to spend the extra money where it's needed, but on my budget I definitely factor in quality and quantity.

P.S. Jeggings = Jean/legging hybrid. They are great because they have the stretch of a legging but the support of a jean. These work great for me because I have a thicker bottom half and they have the structure I need.

30 outfits in 30 days

My name is Britney and I am a senior at the University of Idaho. I'm about to graduate with a bachelors degree in Clothing, Textiles and Design with a minor in Public Relations. For the next 30 days I will document 30 completely different outfits out of the pieces I already have in my closet. There will be repeat items but not repeat outfits. I live on a college budget based off of what I make every month from  my part-time jobs at Maurices and being a barista. You'll see a lot of items from Maurices because that is where I do the bulk of my shopping. This is a personal challenge for me as a fashion student and will hopefully give you guys some ideas too! Enjoy!
